Text guests a link to their own RSVP. They tap it, answer for everyone in their party and pick their meals on their phone, and the reply lands on your guest list.

How it works

What a text RSVP looks like with WedKit

Invitations go out by email. Texts are for the nudges, to the guests who agreed to get them.
  1. A text with their own link

Each text names the guest and links to their party's RSVP, so nobody has to find a code or type their name.
  2. Reminders only to people who haven't replied

Pick the guests still waiting and send one reminder. Each guest gets it by email, and by text if they opted in.
  3. Meal choices by text too

Ask guests who said yes but haven't picked a meal to choose one, with a link straight to the meal step.
  4. Table numbers before the day

Text guests a link to their table assignment once seating is done.
  5. Texted replies still count

When someone texts you "we're in", update their RSVP from your dashboard in a few seconds. If you've connected WedKit to ChatGPT or Claude, you can tell it instead.

Two kinds of text RSVP

Reply to a text, or tap a link in one

Services that do wedding RSVPs by text work one of two ways. It's worth knowing which one you're getting.
  1. Guests text back an answer

Guests write something like "yes, two of us" and a service or a person reads it and records it. That works for a simple yes or no. It gets messy with meal choices, allergies and a family of five replying in one message.
  2. Guests tap a link to their own reply

The text carries a link to that guest's RSVP. They tap it, answer for their whole party and pick meals on their phone. Nothing has to be typed up afterwards. This is how WedKit works.

Choosing one

What to check before you text your guests

Texting gets answers fast. These are the things that decide whether those answers end up somewhere useful.
  1. Did guests agree to texts?

Only text guests who gave you their number for it, and give them a way to stop. WedKit texts only guests who opted in, and every text says how to opt out.
  2. Does the link open that guest's own reply?

A generic form link means guests type their names and you match them up later. A personal link lands the reply on the right person.
  3. Can you text only the people who haven't answered?

Reminding everyone annoys the guests who replied weeks ago.
  4. Do texted answers end up with the rest?

Some guests will text you back anyway. You want a quick way to put that answer on the guest list so your counts stay right.

Questions couples ask

Can guests RSVP just by replying to the text?
Not on their own. The text links to their RSVP, and they answer there, which is how meals and plus-ones get recorded properly. If a guest texts you back anyway, update their reply from your dashboard.
Can I send the invitations themselves by text?
Invitations and save the dates go by email. Reminders, meal choice requests, seating notices and your own messages can go by text to guests who opted in.
Do guests need to download anything?
No. The link opens in their phone's browser. There's no app and no account.
What about guests without a mobile number?
They get the same message by email. Each guest is reached by email, by text if they opted in, or both, and you can choose to send a message by email only.
How much does it cost?
