Getting started
- How do I create my wedding website?
- Click 'Start free trial' and follow the setup wizard. You'll be guided through creating your account, choosing a custom URL, and setting up your wedding details. The whole process takes a few minutes.
- Do I need a credit card to start?
- No — you can start your 7-day free trial without a credit card. We only ask for payment after your trial ends if you'd like to continue.
- What happens after my free trial ends?
- After 7 days, your site and communications are paused until you complete payment. All your data is preserved and restored the moment payment goes through.
- Can I customize my wedding website URL?
- Yes — during setup you choose a custom path like wedkit.ca/w/sarah-james. It makes the URL easy for your guests to remember. Once you've paid, you can also put your site on a domain you already own, like sarahandjames.com, from Settings.
Guest management
- How do I add guests to my wedding?
- Add guests individually or import in bulk from the admin dashboard. Each guest gets a unique invitation code they use to RSVP and access their personalized info.
- Can guests RSVP online?
- Yes — guests RSVP directly on your wedding site using their invitation code. They indicate attendance, dietary restrictions, and answer any custom questions you set up.
- How do I track RSVPs?
- The admin dashboard gives you a full view of every RSVP. You can filter by status, see who hasn't responded, and export the data for vendors.
- What if a guest loses their invitation code?
- Resend codes from the admin dashboard — find the guest in your list and click resend to send a new code by email (or SMS, if they opted in to texts).
Meals & seating
- How does the meal selection system work?
- Create custom courses (appetizer, main, dessert) with multiple options each. Guests select their preferences online, and you view selections in a clean format you can share with your caterer.
- Can I set meal selection deadlines?
- Yes — set a deadline in the Meal Selections page. It's included in every meal selection email and reminder sent to guests.
- How do I create seating arrangements?
- Use the seating manager in your admin dashboard to create tables and assign guests. Drag-and-drop guests to tables; guests can view their assignment on your site.
- Can guests see their seating assignment?
- Yes — once you've finalized seating, guests can view their table and tablemates by logging in with their invitation code.
Communication
- Can I send emails to my guests?
- Yes — send personalized emails to individuals or groups. Templates exist for invitations, reminders, and updates, or write your own.
- Do you support SMS messaging?
- Yes — send SMS to guests who opted in to texts during RSVP. Useful for last-minute updates.
- Can I track if guests opened my emails?
- Yes — open tracking is built in. You can see who viewed your messages and follow up with anyone who missed important info.
- How do I send reminders?
- Send RSVP, meal selection, and custom reminders from the admin dashboard. Select the recipients and send.
Billing & pricing
- How much does WedKit cost?
- WedKit is $49 as a one-time payment. No monthly fees for couples. Includes hosting, and your site never expires.
- What's included in the price?
- Everything. Wedding site, unlimited guests, RSVP management, meal planning, seating, email and SMS, photo galleries, analytics, and every other feature.
- Do you offer refunds?
- Yes — 14-day money-back guarantee. Contact us within 14 days of payment for a full refund, no questions asked.
- Does my site expire?
- No. Your site stays online after the wedding, with no expiry date and nothing to renew.
