Set your names, date and event details

Change your wedding name, event word, date, timezone and venues from Wedding Details.

Updated October 7, 2026

Open Wedding Details (in your dashboard: Wedding Details) to review or change the core facts about your event. Guests see these on your site and in your invitation emails and texts.

Names, event word, date and timezone

Under "Essential Details" you'll find four fields.

  • Wedding Name: the names shown as the headline on your site.
  • Event word: the word we use wherever guests see your event, such as site headings, invitation emails and texts. The default is "Wedding". Change it to something like "Engagement Party", or leave it blank for neutral wording with no event word.
  • Date: your event date.
  • Timezone: the timezone of your event. We set it from your browser when you sign up, so check it if you're planning a destination wedding.

These fields save on their own as you edit. A small indicator shows "Saving…", then "Saved". If something goes wrong you'll see "Couldn't save", and your changes stay on the page so you can try again.

Locations

Under "Locations", select "Add Location" for each venue: your ceremony, your reception, accommodations or anything else guests need. For each one you can set:

  • the venue name and its type (Ceremony, Reception, Ceremony & Reception, Accommodations, Recommendation or Other)
  • an address
  • notes, such as booking details, parking, dress code or a hotel block code

Drag locations to reorder them, or use the move up and down buttons.

Locations don't save automatically. Select "Save Locations" when you're done.

About your web address

Your web address is chosen when your site is created, based on your names. Changing "Wedding Name" later doesn't change it, and it can't be edited from the dashboard. If you need a different address, email us at hello@wedkit.ca.
